Lagbus-ticket Seller Docked for Allegdly Biting Colleague

A 25-year-old Lagbus-ticket seller, Bisiriyu Adekunle, who allegedly bite his colleague on the right hand, on Thursday appeared before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State.

Adekunle, who resides in Igbogbo community,Ikorodu, is facing a charge of unlawful assault.

The Prosecutor, Cpl. Mary Ajiteru, told the court that the accused committed the offence on Oct. 29 at the BRT Bus-Stop in Ikorodu.

“The accused and the complainant, Adebanjo Sunday, are employees of the same company, but they had a misunderstanding which resulted to a fight.

 

“The accused bite the complainant on the right arm and gave him permanent deformity,’’ Ajiteru said.

The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Section 171 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

Section 171 stipulates three years’ imprisonment for assault occasioning harm.

The accused pleaded not guilty.

The Magistrate, Mrs Olagbegi Adelabu, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case till Dec. 12 for mention. (NAN)
